Gold Hill
June 12, 2022: The "Gold Hill" supercell. A long-tracked, discrete, and low precipitation storm that started in Charlottesville, VA and tracked 100 miles to the southeast.
The storm cycled a dozen times in its life, including ~4 cycles that produced low level wall clouds and tornado warnings.
This was a quintessential "Charlottesville magic" supercell.
Wilderness
June 11, 2022: The "Wilderness" supercell. A long-tracked, discrete, and low precipitation storm that started in Culpeper, VA and tracked 80 miles to the southeast through Fredericksburg.
Although never tornado warned, this storm presented impressive mesocyclone structure and rapid rotation in low level wall clouds at several points.
Scottsville
June 13, 2022: The "Scottsville" supercell. A small but photogenic stationary supercell in a high CAPE thermodynamic environment.
